The St. Louis Cardinals (4-7) wrap up their first road trip of the season on Wednesday in the series finale at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies (5-7). This is the rubber match between these two teams, with the Rockies taking a 7-4 win on Monday before St. Louis picked up a late 9-6 victory on Tuesday night. Offshore oddsmakers have the Redbirds a very lofty favorite on Wednesday afternoon.
Before Betting on Cardinals vs Rockies
The Rockies have been home underdogs the first two games of this series, winning 7-4 in the opener and then taking a 6-2 lead on Tuesday night before St. Louis scored 7 runs after the 6th inning to get a 9-6 victory. Colorado could easily be going for the sweep on Wednesday, but instead it looks like St. Louis may have stolen the momentum.
The St. Louis offense looked good on Wednesday, but that could also be a byproduct of playing at Coors Field. It’s hard to know what to expect from the Cardinals on getaway day as they get ready to head back home for a 7-game home stand. Either way Paul Goldschmidt has had a good series so far with 4 RBI while Nolan Arenado knocked in 3 in Tuesday’s win.
Thursday’s pitching matchup is Jack Flaherty (1-1, 1.80) vs Jose Urena (0-2, 14.40) which would seem to favor the Cardinals. Urena has allowed 4 ER in each of his first two starts of the season while Flaherty has allowed 2 ER total over his first 10.0 IP of the season – then again pitching at Coors Field is a whole different animal.

Cardinals vs Rockies Prediction & Pick
Have to like the Cardinals here with their offensive breakout on Wednesday night and with Urena’s early season struggles for Colorado.
