The two US Open champions clash in the semis, with Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning one, facing Daniil Medvedev, who is the former title holder in New York.
Before Betting on Carlos Alcaraz vs. Daniil Medvedev
Alcaraz has showcased his incredible tenacity throughout his title defense campaign here at Flushing, triumphing over Dominik Koepfer, Lloyd Harris, Dan Evans, and Matteo Arnaldi to secure his spot in the quarterfinals. In a highly-anticipated match-up, he faced off against Alexander Zverev, the 2020 US Open finalist, and he rolled over the German.
Carlitos was unstoppable, beating Zverev in straight sets, not allowing him to have the slightest hope of coming back into the match. The final result was 6-3,6-2, 6-4 for the Spaniard, who, we say again, looked incredible.
On the other hand, Medvedev’s journey to the semifinals hasn’t been that impressive. He conquered Attila Balazs, Christopher O’Connell, Sebastian Baez, and Alex de Minaur in the opening stages of the tournament. He then faced his compatriot, Andrey Rublev.
Medvedev did win that event in straight sets, but in each of them, we’ve seen him falling behind early on and making comebacks. Now, that wasn’t solely because of his superb game, but also due to Rublev’s mental instability. Additionally, we’ve seen Medvedev looking tired at the end of the match, which isn’t a good sign against Alcaraz.

Alcaraz is currently the player with the best form, and it’s no wonder why many see him defending the title. Overall, he plays the most flamboyant and the best tennis in the tournament, and even though Medveved stands as a formidable rival, the Russian’s chances of avoiding a defeat are way too low here. We’ve seen these two guys squaring off twice this year, and each time, Alcaraz emerged as the winner.
