The final four in the men’s draw at the French Open clash in the semi-final stage on Friday afternoon. A place in the final will be up for grabs across the two semi-finals. Novak Djokovic’s clash with Carlos Alcaraz will get a lot of attention, but the most fascinating final four showdown comes in the form of Casper Ruud vs Alexander Zverev

Before Betting On Casper Ruud vs Alexander Zverev

A fascinating semi-final in prospect has been set up for fans on Friday, as two of the players that were involved in the semi-finals 12 months ago are back at this stage of the Grand Slam. Casper Ruud has looked incredible strong to this point, and he could be the standout contender to take on Djokovic or Alcaraz in Sunday’s showpiece match at Roland Garros.

The Norwegian delivered potentially his best performance at the French Open in the quarterfinal stage, as he dismantled Holger Rune in the previous round. Ruud eventually landed victory after four sets, but the victory never really looked in doubt at any stage. He smashed down five aces throughout the showdown, and won 72% of the points on his second serve. Ruud also converted on five from 13 break point opportunities.

Alexander Zverev’s comeback in Paris this year has been one of the biggest stories at the Grand Slam. He has looked back to his very best following a potentially career-altering injury, and that form has helped him reach the last four at the French Open for the third successive year. However, he is yet to reach the final at the Grand Slam, falling at this stage in both 2021 and 2022.

The German was excellent once again in his quarterfinal showdown on Wednesday, as he won 3-1 against Tomas Etcheverry. Zverev recorded seven aces in that victory, and won an impressive 76% of the points on his second serve. The German also converted on five from eleven break point opportunities, and a first French Open final could be within reach.

Zverev and Ruud have both exceeded expectations at the French Open this year, and both would be deserving of a place in the final. However, we are leaning toward the Norwegian securing that target, as he was our pre-tournament pick to win at Roland Garros this year.
