The Chargers head on the road this week but they don’t mind. That’s not just because this is a short trip North to the Bay but because LAC has gone 3-1 in away games this season. The Chargers traveled cross country to pick up a 20-17 win in Atlanta last week for their fourth win in the last five games.
This was going to be a tough game plan for the LAC defense regardless, but it looks like San Francisco should be getting Deebo Samuel back from a hamstring injury and they’ve seamlessly integrated Christian McCaffrey into the offense after the trade from Carolina, with McCaffrey having a pass, run, and reception TD two weeks ago in a 31-14 victory over the Rams.
The Chargers have a top 10 total offense and are the league’s 5th best passing team, but they’re averaging just 20.6 ppg over their last three with two of those games being at home. That being said the LAC defense has improved and they’ve held both Atlanta and Denver under 17 points over the past three contests.
