We’re seeing the Justin Herbert injury take a huge part in Thursday’s Chargers vs Raiders game. This is a matchup where Los Angeles might have easily been favored if they had their star QB in the lineup – but he’s going to miss the rest of the year after breaking his finger – but instead it’s Las Vegas who is priced at -3 on the offshore odds and the total is at a submarine level 34 points.

Before Betting on Chargers vs Raiders

There’s a lot going on in the start to the week 15 NFL slate. It’s a short week, both the Chargers and Raiders are 5-8, and now Los Angeles turns to Easton Stick at QB making his first NFL start as coach Brandon Staley tries to save his job on the national stage.

Stick doesn’t have a ton of in-game experience in the NFL, throwing just one pass in 2020 before going 13-24 for 179 yards in relief of Herbert last week – but he’s actually been with the Chargers since 2019. The high powered attack with Herbert wasn’t working as LAC has lost four of five and have only put up 23 total points over their last three games so maybe a switch to a more conservative approach is what they need.

Las Vegas has their own issues, winning their first two games under interim coach Antonio Pierce before looking absolutely atrocious the last three. The bad times came to a head last week in a 3-0 loss to the Vikings at home where literally any points would have won the game. Like the Chargers, the Raiders have also scored just 23 total points over their last three games so offense is going to be at a premium in this one.

Chargers vs Raiders Prediction & Pick

This game is not a huge draw for the Amazon Prime audience, and really the only thing to do here is bet the ‘under’ and go watch something else. The Raiders couldn’t score a point in week 14 and the Chargers turn to a guy who had thrown one NFL pass prior to last week while also missing his biggest weapon in WR Keenan Allen (heel). We’re looking at a 17-13 game, if we’re lucky.

Pick: Under 34.5
