Before Betting On Charles Schwab Challenge
Colonial Golf Course in Texas will host the latest round of PGA Tour action this weekend, as some of the world’s best will be in action at the Charles Schwab Challenge to compete for a share of the $9.1 million purse. The stroke play event is contested over a distance of 7,209 yards, and it has been staged annually since 1946.
Ben Hogan is the most successful player in the history of the event, having landed five victories between 1946 and 1959. Ten further players have won the event on multiple occasions, with Zach Johnson, Kenny Perry, and Nick Price among the two-time winners.
Scottie Scheffler endured a testing weekend at the PGA Championship last weekend, as his weekend was thrown into doubt following the dramatic news that he had been arrested. However, the world number one battled back to finish in a strong position. He also has a fine record in this event after finishing second back in 2022.
Max Homa was in contention at the PGA Championship until the penultimate round, but he also finished strongly after going two-under in the final round to finish in the top 35. Colin Morikawa has also looked back to his best this season in the majors, and could be hard to completely dismiss this weekend.
