It’s safe to say that Mauricio Pochettino is slowly wasting his credit with Chelsea fans. The Blues aren’t playing well at all, and a victory over Crystal Palace this Wednesday night is an absolute must. Meanwhile, the Eagles are coming to Stamford Bridge after a series of terrible performances, looking for a breath of fresh air and at least one point.

After two successful performances in which they’ve defeated Sheffield United in the Premiership and Newcastle in the English Football League cup, the Blues disappointed again, losing against Wolves at Molineux, 2-1.

Raheem Sterling is the man to blame for this defeat because the pacey winger had an excellent chance in the first half to break the hosts and put his team in control of the situation. Yet his selfishness hurt Chelsea once more.

On the other hand, Crystal Palace has not won any of the past seven games, and they have only had one triumph in the last 11 meetings. The Eagles are rapidly sinking in the standings, and right now, they are occupying the 15th spot, having three points more than Luton, the first team in the relegation zone.

Three of Palace’s previous five outings had ended with either both teams netting or over 2.5 goals. In general, they are very inconsistent on the road, but the majority of the matches ended with them failing to end up on the winning side.

If Chelsea fails to win, we are pretty sure that Pochettino will find himself under fire from both the media and the fans. They are running out of patience. However, the Blues are closer to winning not only because of their motive but also due to Palace’s terrible performances over the last few weeks.
