Chelsea and Newcastle face one another in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Both teams met with English adversaries in the previous events and continue that trend this Wednesday night.

Before Betting on Chelsea vs. Newcastle

Chelsea netted nine times in the past two events in the US. After a very confident victory over Wrexham, 5-0, we’ve seen them defeat Brighton, 4-3, in a spectacle that brought fireworks. The Blues are apparently a very gifted team on the offensive side, but Mauricio Pochettino has a lot to improve in the back line.

The Blues are after a highly turbulent period and a season they would like to quickly forget. Ownership change, losses, head coach replacements, all that struck the club from Stamford Bridge.

Newcastle was heading in the opposite direction, finishing among the top four Premier League teams and securing the ticket to the Champions League. The Magpies played very good football under Eddie Howe’s leadership, and they are aiming to be even better this season.

Howe and the boys played three friendly meetings, winning twice and ending one with a tie, vs. Aston Vila, 3-3. All three encounters Newcastle played were interesting, having at least three goals on both ends. This one will be the biggest test for Howe and his crew because Chelsea looks good.

The Magpies’ defense is still sloppy following the break, and what was one of the best backlines in the Premier League last season now allows plenty of goals. Fortunately for Howe, the offense looks good. Chelsea’s offense is superb, but, like with their rivals, the defense could be better. Good attacks and sloppy defensive lines could mean only one thing – goals on both sides.
