The big game in the Premier League this weekend comes from Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur clash. This is often a fixture that both sets of fans look out for at the start of the campaign, and they haven’t needed to wait long to see the first big London derby of the season.

Before Betting On Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur

Both Chelsea and Tottenham made winning starts to the new Premier League season, which means the perfect record for one of these sides must go on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. It was a summer of change for the Blues, as the change in ownership also brought a change in the playing squad.

Both big additions, Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly, played in the opening game of the campaign, with the Blues running out 1-0 winners away from home against Everton. The performance may have been slightly underwhelming, but Jorginho’s penalty ensured that Chelsea came away from Merseyside with maximum points.

This season looks to be a massive one for Tottenham Hotspur, as the board have backed Antonio Conte throughout the summer. They made a winning start to the campaign, as they recorded a routine 4-1 home success against Southampton. The most surprising aspect may have been that neither Harry Kane or Heung Min-Son were on the scoresheet. Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier and Dejan Kulusevski scored the goals for Spurs.

Conte will need to overturn a very damaging record at Stamford Bridge for Spurs, as they have picked up just one victory in the previous 37 visits to Chelsea. Spurs are also winless in seven games against their London rivals, and have scored just once during that run.

While I believe that Spurs will finish above Chelsea this season, the record that Tottenham has at Stamford Bridge needs to be acknowledged. For that reason, we could see Chelsea getting the win, and the Blues are best-priced at +131 with Pinnacle.
