Before Betting

Chicago Fire’s record in the MLS this season is 7-8-16, which accounts for 29 points. These guys are second from the bottom in the East and given that there are only three more regular-season games left, their chance of making the postseason is very low.

Toronto FC are in a much better situation. They’re 11-3-17 overall with 36 points, which puts them in the No. 7 position. With a little bit of luck, the Canadians would need only a couple of points to book a place in the postseason.

However, that’s much easier said than done, given that they’re not in very good shape right now. In fact, they’re coming to Chicago after two straight losses. Luckily for them, the same is the case with Chicago Fire.

Another similarity between the two is that they’re both struggling with injuries. Toronto FC could miss as many as six players, three of which are their key defenders. Over in the Chicago Fire camp, four players are expected to miss out on Saturday’s action, most notably, Hugo Cuypers, who’s this team’s top scorer in 2024 MLS.

Chicago vs. Toronto Prediction

Anything can happen in this game. Bookmakers favor Chicago, but we think Toronto is a slightly better team. Still, we don’t think that the difference in player quality is big enough for them to get a win. Instead, a draw looks like the most plausible outcome.
