  • The Chiefs were on bye last week, giving them plenty of time to prepare for this matchup.
  • San Francisco also had some extra time, after defeating the Seahawks on Thursday, 36-24.
  • These two teams last met in Super Bowl LVIII, a game that Kansas City went on to win 25-22.

Kansas City and San Francisco face off in a key Week 7 NFL clash. This game is a rematch of February’s Super Bowl. Our Chiefs vs 49ers prediction involves Kansas City narrowly getting the best of the 49ers once again.

Chiefs Eyeing Up 6-0 Start

The Chiefs are off to another stellar start, currently sitting as one of the NFL’s lone two unbeatens. It’s business as usual for Patrick Mahomes, who keeps breaking records. In order to claim the first threepeat in NFL history, Kansas City will need to be flawless. Injuries to RB Isiah Pacheco and WR Rashee Rice will certainly make that more difficult. A road game against San Francisco’s strong defense will be a key test for their depleted offense.

49ers Still Banged Up on Offense

The 49ers face some offensive injury woes of their own. RB Christian McCaffrey still hasn’t made his season debut and his capable backup, Jordan Mason, has also been out lately. With the offensive line not at its best, QB Brock Purdy has seen some regression. That being said, he had a bounce-back game last week against Seattle. Purdy will need to maintain that momentum this week to keep up with the Chiefs without McCaffrey.

Chiefs vs 49ers Prediction: Unbeaten Chiefs Stay Perfect

Injuries on both sides increase the uncertainty of this game’s result, but it’s hard to bet against Patrick Mahomes. Not doing so in the postseason last year paid off, so I’ll stick to that strategy. Expect the 49ers to test them quite a bit at home, especially without Pacheco and Rice. That being said, Mahomes has shown time and time again that he can win with any weapons. I see the Chiefs winning this Super Bowl rematch, 23-20.
