The only team left standing with an unbeaten record in the NFL are back in action this weekend, as they host the Cincinnati Bengals. But, will they be able to maintain their solid start to the NFL season with another huge win in the AFC Championship.
Steelers In Excellent Form
Pittsburgh Steelers have emerged as one of the potential sides in the AFC that could lay down a challenge for the Kansas City Chiefs this season. It appears to be a straight fight between the two sides to reach the finals in this conference, and while the Chiefs may be the side that many will still be predicting, the stronger that the Steelers end the season, the more support that they are likely to get.
The Steelers have won all eight of their games in the NFL this season, as they boast impressive 4-0 records both at home and away. They have scored the second-highest number of points in the AFC, while they also have allowed the second-lowest number of points in the AFC North. Pittsburgh come into this fixture against the Bengals off the back of a narrow victory against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys were excellent in the first half of that match, as they led 13-9 at the break. They were able to extend that lead in the third quarter by adding a further six points. However, the Steelers came alive in the final quarter to save their blushes and maintain their perfect record by scoring 15 unanswered points. There were touchdowns in the win for JuJu Smuth-Schuster, Eric Ebron and James Washington. Meanwhile, Ben Roethlisberger completed 306 passing yards in the victory.
Bengals Struggling In AFC North
It will be top against bottom in the AFC North this weekend, as the Bengals are the side rock-bottom of the conference. Only three sides have lost more games than the Bengals in the AFC, with those sides being the Texans, Jaguars and Chargers. They have won two games this season, but they have both come at home, which doesn’t bold well since this game will be on the road for the Bengals.
However, there will be confidence within the camp coming into this fixture, as they won their last match in the NFL against the Tennessee Titans. The Bengals were excellent in that victory as they outscored their opponents in three of the fourth quarters. They scored 14 points in each of the second of fourth quarters, with touchdowns in the win being scored by Giovani Bernard, Samaje Perine and Tyler Boyd. However, making it two wins on the bounce will be a huge challenge.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers Recent Meetings
The recent record between the two sides doesn’t give the Bengals hope, as they haven’t won against the Steelers in their last ten meetings. Cincinnati’s last win back in 2015. The most recent fixture between the two AFC sides came last year, with the Steelers winning the home game 16-10.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers Pick
The head to head record and overall standings highlights the challenge awaiting the Bengals, and it appears extremely challenging to predict that they will be able to get the win from this game. We expect the Steelers to maintain their perfect start to the season.
