Gane lost the bout for the heavyweight champion to Francis Ngannou, who defeated him via unanimous decision, using a very smart game plan. The Predator didn’t allow his former sparing partner to control the distance with his Muay Thai but dragged the battle to the ground.

However, he made radical changes after that and went on a spree that still lasted, beating Greg Hardy, Augusto Sakai, and Derrick Lewis, among others.
Extremely quick and powerful bursts, dirty boxing, and clinch bombs are his main strength, and we haven’t seen too many guys in this division with such an approach. Though, cardio remains an enigma because he had only two fights going to the distance.
