- Clemson finished 9-4 last season, after defeating Kentucky in the Gator Bowl.
- Georgia smothered Florida State in the Orange Bowl last year, winning 63-3.
- These two teams last met on September 4, 2021, in a game Georgia won 10-3.
The 2024-25 college football season kicks off in just a matter of days! This Week 1 clash features a matchup between the #14 Clemson Tigers and the #1 Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia is aiming to return to the CFP this year.
Before Betting on Clemson vs Georgia
Clemson has remained competitive enough to rank in the top-25, despite falling out of college football playoff contention in the past few seasons. That sets up them up as one of the teams that benefits the most from the college football playoff expanding to 12 teams from the previous field of 4 teams. Even so, the Tigers enter the season ranked just outside of the top-12. An opening week win at Georgia would catapult their CFP standing.
Georgia was the frontrunner to pull off an improbable “three-peat” for much of last season. Unfortunately, the CFP field fell in a way that a 12-1 Georgia team was left out in favor of an Alabama team that defeated them in the SEC title game, and a Texas team that beat Alabama. This year, the expanded playoff field should prevent a repeat situation. QB Carson Beck should lead the Bulldogs to a top-2 finish in the SEC and a return to the CFP.
Clemson vs Georgia Offshore Odds
Georgia enters this game as favorites by a considerable margin. While Clemson has declined since the level of their national championship teams five years ago, the Bulldogs have gone 42-2 over the past three seasons. They enter this season as the outright favorite to win the national championship for the 3rd time in the past 4 years. Clemson won’t be an easy out, but Georgia should assert themselves and build a lead early in this one.
