  • The Clippers are 20-17 and have the second-best record in the Pacific Division.
  • Miami has an identical 20-17 record and has the second-best record in the Southeast Division.
  • These teams last played on Feb. 4, 2024, with the Clippers claiming a 103-95 victory.

One of the games on tap from Monday night’s NBA slate features the Los Angeles Clippers hosting the Miami Heat. Can LA cool off Miami in our Clippers vs Heat prediction?

Can The Clippers Snap Their Two-Game Slide?

The Clippers knocked off the Atlanta Hawks by a 131-105 margin on Jan. 4. Since that outing, LA has dropped its last two games, including a 126-103 defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night. Norman Powell paced the Clippers’ scoring attack with 30 points and four rebounds on an 8-for-17 effort from the field.

James Harden added 16 points and four assists. Unfortunately, he converted just five of his 15 attempts overall while missing six of eight attempts from 3-point range. Denver led by a 16-point advantage by the break and increased its advantage to 27 points in the third quarter en route to improving to 8-0 on the second leg of back-to-back outings.

Heat Looks To Push Winning Streak To Four Games

The Heat have responded with three straight victories over the past week following three consecutive losses. This includes a blowout 119-98 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night. Tyler Herro headlined a balanced scoring effort where all five starters reached double figures. He scored a team-high 32, along with five assists on 11-of-22 shooting overall and a 7-for-14 effort from beyond the arc.

Nikola Jovic chipped in with 21 points, eight rebounds, and five assists off the bench. Bam Adebayo added 13 points, 11 boards, and six dimes. Miami led by 18 points at intermission but saw that lead get cut to 68-64 in the third quarter. Fortunately, the Heat got back on track, thanks partly to a 25-15 scoring advantage in the final frame. This marked only the second time Miami has won three consecutive games this season.

Clippers vs Heat Prediction: Miami Continues To Roll

After producing 19 wins across its first 32 games, the Clippers have taken an “L” in four of their previous five outings. Meanwhile, in addition to their current three-game winning streak, the Heat have also won five of their last eight games. Points will come at a premium in a matchup between two squads ranked in the top 10 in points allowed. But Miami has been hot lately, and that trend will continue against Los Angeles.
