Not many people were giving the Clippers much of a chance in Game 1 of their first round playoff series with the star-studded Suns, but L.A. showed they have some big dogs of their own in picking up a 115-110 win and stealing home court advantage in the process.

The common perception is that Phoenix bounces back to tie the series here, after all Kevin Durant had a 27/9/11 line in Game 1 while Devin Booker scored 28 points and Chris Paul had 11 rebounds and 10 assists. It seems like that kind of production will be the norm for the Suns’ big three this series.
The Clippers withstood solid games from Durant, Booker, and Paul while at one span building up a 16-point lead in the 2nd quarter of Game 1. Kawhi Leonard was the alpha dog of the opener, dropping 38 points on 13-24 shooting in his first playoff game in 2 years. Russell Westbrook wasn’t great from the field on Sunday (3-19) but he made some clutch plays down the stretch and will be a factor in this series regardless of how he shoots.

The Suns were 28-13 at home during the regular season so L.A. winning two on the road is going to be a task.
