They didn’t get it done last week in falling 32-23 in Detroit, but the Minnesota Vikings can once again clinch the NFC North with a win over Indianapolis on Saturday. the Colts had a bye last week – and they needed it following a 54-19 drubbing at the hands of the Cowboys in week 13. Indy has dropped six of their last seven but Minnesota is still just a -3.5 favorite here.
Before Betting on Colts vs Vikings
Minnesota’s big concern on Saturday afternoon is their defense, which is allowing over 30 ppg the last five games. We know Minnesota has some deep seeded defensive issues if Indianapolis can score in this game, because the Colts only average 16.1 ppg which is second fewest in the NFL. Minnesota should be getting veteran safety Harrison Smith back in the lineup which will boost their defense in this spot.
The Vikings gave up 330 yards passing and another 130+ on the ground last week but at the same time Detroit is really playing well lately. The bright side of the loss to the Lions was that Minnesota WR Justin Jefferson was once again dominant with 11 catches for 223 yards. The Vikings’ problem was that they couldn’t run the ball (17 carries, 22 yards) something that should improve with tackle Christian Darrishaw expected to make his return from concussion protocol.
Even coming off their bye week it’s really hard to see the Colts offense being able to go blow-for-blow with Minnesota’s scoring attack. The Vikings have the worst pass defense in the league, but Indy QB Matt Ryan also threw 3 INTs vs. Dallas and hasn’t had more than 250 yards passing since returning to the starting lineup four games ago.

Colts vs Vikings Prediction & Pick
The Vikings defense has been horrible but a) they have the offense to make up for it and b) the Colts offense doesn’t scare anybody. Indianapolis has the 8th best defense on paper in terms of total yards (314.8) but they just gave up 33 points in the 4th quarter alone in the loss to Dallas.
Pick: Vikings -3.5
