Washington Commanders meet the New England Patriots at the Gillette Stadium. The battle of two sub-.500 teams isn’t drawing too much attention, but we believe this might be one of the most interesting games of the entire weekend.

Before Betting on Commanders vs. Patriots

This is a lost year for the Commanders. At least, that’s what we believe after seeing their trade activities and Chase Young’s departure. On one hand, this is OK, but on the other, getting rid of such a talent… well, that’s, let’s say, brave.

Apart from beating Atlanta on the road three weeks ago, the Commanders have had nothing but losses since the start of October. The schedule didn’t help either, with this being their fourth road contest in the past six weeks. The main problem for the team is soft defense, because of which they lose games. Plain and simple. Also, Terry McLaurin has only two touchdowns. Not as many as we expected.

The clock is ticking for Mac Jones (1,641 passing yards this year), and if he doesn’t improve his game radically, his time as the starting QB will be over very soon. Only nine touchdowns with eight picks, that’s nowhere near the expected. Some sources from within the franchise suggest that the Pats may start to rebuild the team soon, and that Jones is the first one to lose the job.

New England defeated Buffalo two weeks ago, and we can’t get rid of the impression that this unit has much more to give than it actually shows. But for that to happen, they need to have a more confident quarterback. Because all the problems are starting with Jones.

The Commanders have been in some sort of limbo these days, and even though the Pats have all the problems with Jones and consistency, their home-field performances are much better than those on the road. It’s why we have to pick their victory here.
