Our Commanders vs Ravens prediction is for Washington to stay close enough to cover the spread in Baltimore +6.5 (-112).

The visiting Commanders (4-1, first place in the NFC East) are the surprise team in the NFL. The title-contending Ravens (3-2) dropped their first two games of the 2024 season, but have won three straight against tough opponents Dallas, Buffalo, and Cincinnati.

The two teams have only met seven times since the Ravens came into existence after relocating from Cleveland. Baltimore leads 4-3.

Commanders Riding a Wave of Excitement

With the combination of finally being rid of polarizing former owner Daniel Snyder, getting a solid new coach in Dan Quinn, and a burgeoning superstar in rookie QB Jayden Daniels, the Commanders are the hot team in the league.

Led by Brian Robinson Jr., all-around backfield weapon Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols and Daniels, Washington is second in the NFL in rushing yards. They lead the league in points scored with Baltimore eight points behind them.

Washington’s run defense is just outside of the top-10 and it will need to be tough to handle Baltimore’s rejuvenated Derrick Henry and quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Led by Derrick Henry, Ravens’ Offense Is Firing

The Ravens running game is carrying them after their slow start having lost their first two games to Kansas City and Las Vegas. The schedule has not been kind and Baltimore was impressive in wins against Dallas, Buffalo, and Cincinnati.

Henry is averaging six yards per carry and already has 572 yards rushing in five games. Defensively, they have been excellent against the run but vulnerable to the pass. Washington will need to open up their passing game to have a chance to win outright.

Prediction: Commanders Will Keep It Close

The Commanders vs Ravens prediction is for them to stay close enough to cover the spread. They could win the game if Daniels can mitigate the Ravens’ strong run defense.

This is a tough test for the Commanders and they will, at minimum, emerge with a moral victory by keeping it close, proving they’re a true force to reckon with.
