The United States will be looking to reach a third straight final on Thursday evening. They have won just once in their previous two appearances in the final, as they won the 2017 instalment of the competition, beating Jamaica 2-1 in the final. Qatar drew their opening game 3-3 against Panama, before winning back-to-back games against Grenada and Honduras to close out the group stages.
They have certainly been one of the most interesting nations to watch in the Gold Cup this summer, as they have been involved in a number of high-scoring games. That was once again the case in the quarterfinal clash with El Salvador. Qatar raced into a 3-0 lead courtesy of goals from Abdulaziz Hatem and two for Almoez Ali. However, they allowed El Salvador back into the game, as their opponents scored twice in the space of three minutes. Fortunately, they were able to hand on to win 3-2.
