There’s a running joke among Copa America fans that the best way to cure insomnia is to watch Peru play. These guys made just four attempts on goal in the game with Chile in the opening round. In comparison, despite losing 2:0 in the tournament opener, Canada created 10 chances against the defending champions Argentina.

Before Betting on Peru vs. Canada 2024 Copa America Game

Peru is one of the least effective teams taking part in the 2024 Copa America. Coached by 71-year-old Jorge Fossati, Los Incas scored just one goal in their last eight competitive matches. On the bright side for their fans, they also conceded a relatively low number of goals.

In fact, in their first game of the 2024 Copa America, Peru kept a clean sheet against favored Chile, with the game finishing 0:0. Not only did they win a point, but they also reduced Chile’s chance of advancing to the next round.

That’s great news for Canada, who, despite losing 2:0 to Argentina, have every right to hope to snatch the No. 2 place in Group A. For that to happen, beating Peru is an absolute must.

A win would probably mean that they’ll have playoff destiny in their own hands. Not winning, however, would almost certainly mean that the dream is over. So, can they win on June 25?

The Peru vs. Canada odds favor Canada to win, but given that Canucks are priced at +125, it seems that oddsmakers expect a real battle on the field in Kansas City. Based on what we saw from these teams in the first round, Canada is probably going to attack, while Peru’s player will “park the bus” in front of their goal.

So, the big question is whether Canada has the players capable of tearing down Peru’s defensive wall? We think they do. Captain Alphonso Davies and vice-captain Stephen Eustaquio are creative players who know how to make great chances for the attackers.

And given that Canada’s attackers are Cyle Larin and Jonathan David, we have no doubt they’ll find the net at least once.
