The USA kick off their Copa America campaign this summer in Dallas, as they come up against South American nation Bolivia. America will be a dark horse chance to win the tournament, but they will be expected to at least progress from Group C in their home tournament.

Before Betting On USA vs Bolivia

The action in Group C at the Copa America this summer gets underway in Dallas, as the nations take on Bolivia. USA will be widely expected to come out of this group, which also includes Uruguay and Panama, but they could face tougher challenges as the tournament progresses. Interestingly, this is only the fifth time that the nation have been invited to play at the Copa America, with their best showings coming in 1995 and 2016 when finishing in fourth place.

Questions could be asked of the USA’s form ahead of this opening match, as they have suffered three defeats in their last five matches, with their only victories coming in the Nations League semi-final and final. They were firmly put in their place against South American opposition at the start of June when losing heavily against Colombia.

Bolivia will present a stern first test for the USA at the tournament this summer, as the previous winners achieved qualification with games to spare. However, their best showings in the tournament have both come in the distant past, winning the Copa America in 1963, and finishing as the runners-up in 1997.

They have been eliminated in the group stage in each of the last three editions of the competition without winning a match, meaning that their last victory at the tournament was achieved on their way to reaching the quarterfinal stage in 2015. Their recent performances have also been poor after losing three of their last four, with their only victory coming against Andorra in late March.
