The big goal for Dallas on Sunday is to avoid looking ahead. After the visit to Jacksonville the Cowboys head home next week for a clash with Philadelphia who they trail in the NFC East by two games. That will also be the final home game of the regular season Cowboys, so it will be a very festive atmosphere. The Jaguars can play spoiler though, just like they did last week in a 36-22 win at Tennessee.

Dallas looks bound for the postseason either way, but there’s already excitement brewing over the Eagles’ visit to Arlington next Saturday. Dallas is still going to try and get their running game going Sunday as Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott have combined for 1,610 yards and 18 rush TDs this season.
The Jaguars are in a pretty solid spot. At 5-8 they’re still only two games back from Tennessee for 1st place in the AFC North – but also currently slated to pick 11th in next year’s NFL draft. If Jacksonville wins they get closer to a potential division title while if they lose they work their way up to a better draft pick to improve the team for next season. You really can’t lose either way which is why the Jaguars are playing so carefree down the stretch.
