Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo sat down with renowned journalist Piers Morgan for an in depth interview where he opened about his personal life.

Cristiano Ronaldo Opens Up

Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players of all time. During his long career that has seen him play in England, Spain and Italy, he has had his share of ups and downs. He opened up to Piers Morgan in an in depth interview about his life.

To get a sense of how personal it got, here is Ronaldo getting emotional about the fact that his father died before he ever won the Ballon D’Or (World Player of the Year).

The death of his father had a profound effect on his life. Ronaldo does not drink alcohol and the fact that his father died of an alcohol related liver condition tells its own story. The interview touched on his family but what made it so compelling is that for the first time he spoke about the rape allegations.

Ronaldo Speaks on Rape Allegations

Cristiano Ronaldo was accused of rape by Kathryn Mayorga. The alleged incident would have taken place in 2009 in Las Vegas. The Clark County district attorney said that the accuser’s claims could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Due to a lack of evidence, there have been no criminal charges were filed. Ronaldo is still facing a civil rape case in Nevada over the incident.

He went into detail about his feelings on what has happened. He mentioned that people have tried to ruin his reputation. One thing he did say was that he felt embarrassed about the allegations. He is in a relationship with Georgina Rodriguez. It is probably the first time he has opened about his relationship with the mother of his children. Rodriguez says they met in a Gucci store and it was “love at first sight.”

She stuck by him through the rape allegations. He said that she has helped him a lot and he is in love with her. Ronaldo seems to have found a new level of peace in his personal life. It’s obvious listening to him talk about her that she ha brought him balance.

The Interview Will Be On Good Morning Britain

The full interview will be out Tuesday on the television show Good Morning Britain. It looks like a must watch considering how in depth the previews are. As one of the most famous people in the entire world, it’s nice to see Cristiano Ronaldo open up about his life away from the pitch more. He is coming towards the end of his career and seems to be in more of a reflective mood.

The fact that he will be 35 before the end of the season means that the end of his career is closer than not. While he has slowed down a bit he is still one of the world’s best players. In terms of fame, he has achieved everything both on and off the field. If he can lead Juventus to a Champions League title, he just might cement himself as the greatest player of all time.
