The NBA is back, and even though there are just scrimmage games on the menu, the fans are equally excited to see them. Last night we had four contests played, and the most interesting was the one between the Dallas Mavericks and the LA Lakers.
Boban and Seth Curry Take Care of the Lakers
Steph Curry’s brother showed that he has the same hot hand as his brother. He just needs a little space to prove it. Seth made all of his six attempts beyond the arc, finishing the game with 23 points.
Meanwhile, his teammate Boban Marjanovic posted a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards, having two blocks as well, both on Dwight Howard. Boban hit a three-pointer to set the Mavs bench on fire after that.
Luka Doncic had 14 buckets, 6 assists, and 5 boards.
For the Lakers, Quinn Cook, and JaVale McGee scored 13 points each, while LeBron and Anthony Davis had 12. Both of the Lakers’ best players played 15 minutes on the floor.
Giannis Smashes the Spurs
The reigning MVP of the league, and the guy with the best chances for defending that status, Giannis Antetokounmpo led his Bucks to a win over the San Antonio Spurs, 112-93.
The Greek Freak scored 22 points, with four dimes and three steals in just 21 minutes, indicating that his form stayed at the same level as before the hiatus. Overall, the entire Milwaukee team played very well, outplaying their rivals.
Brook Lopez had 17 points, and Khris Middleton one fewer.
Spurs opened the match very well, but lost the juice after a while. They were without the best player, LaMarcus Aldridge, who decided the skip the remaining part of the season to deal with his injuries and surgeries.
Lonnie Walker had 14 points for the losing side, Dejounte Murray 13.
Pacers Edge Blazers, Oladipo on the Court
Indiana was better than the Portland Trail Blazers, 91-88, but the more important thing for the Pacers is that Victor Oladipo appeared on the court.
He had 8 points and six boards, and was looking solid on the floor. The best player in his team was Justing Holiday with 16 points, and his brother Aaron was just behind with 12.
Indiana appeared without Domantas Sabonis who won’t be available for some time.
Blazers weren’t looking particularly sharp, and it seemed that they played this game with much lower intensity than they could. Damian Lillard had just four points in 20 minutes, but added seven assists. McCollum had 11, Carmelo 8.
Jusuf Nurkic was back on the court after a long time, and the big man delivered 14 points and 8 boards, being the best among the Blazers.
Suns Sweep Pale Jazzers
Phoenix Suns defeated Utah Jazz, 101-88, making the rivals look like a team that is way below the playoff zone. There wasn’t a single moment in which the Jazz threatened Phoenix, and looked sharp.
Donovan Mitchel had 17 points and had four assists, Jordan Clarkson 14 and Mike Conley 12. Rudy Gobert posted five points, and six boards.
On the other side, the Suns had several players in the mood for playing. Mikal Bridges was the most efficient with 14 points, Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton added 13, with the note that Ayton had 8 boards. Dario Saric scored 12.
