Los Angeles Galaxy is the team with the most impressive trophy cabinet in the MLS, but it’s been a while since this team’s done well. In 2023, Greg Vanney’s men are at the very bottom of the Western Conference table.
The good news is that they’ve got plenty of time to salvage the 2023 season, but for that, they need to start winning points ASAP. The bad news is that winning points on Saturday, May 20, won’t be easy as they’re playing against DC United at Audi Field in Washington, DC.
Before Betting on DC United vs Los Angeles Galaxy
DC United is without a win in the MLS since April, with one loss and two ties in the last three outings. This may sound bad, but there’s a caveat – Wayne Rooney’s team played against some really tough opponents in the last three rounds.
First, the boys from the capital lost 2-1 to FC Cincinnati, the team that’s sitting top of the Eastern Conference at the moment. Then, DC United drew 1-1 with Nashville SC, which is currently third in the East. Finally, last Wednesday, these guys played 0-0 with the reigning Eastern Conference champion, Philadelphia Union.
Knowing all this, DC United’s recent run in the MLS is far from being embarrassing. When it comes to Los Angeles Galaxy, it’s just the opposite. These guys are playing horrible soccer in 2023, with their offensive players just being unable to get on target. Galaxy did score 10 goals in the 12 games played this season, but they conceded twice as many.
If you’ve watched them play, you’ve probably realized that Greg Vanney’s boys score goals only when they attack with all they have. Unfortunately, this sort of strategy leaves their net exposed to the opposition. If they follow the same tactic on Saturday, we’ll probably see DC United hit them on the break.

The LA boys are desperate for points, which is why we’ll probably see them charge toward the DC United goal. In turn, this will enable Rooney’s men to exact counterattacks, some of which are almost guaranteed to result in a goal. Sure, Galaxy might find a net once or twice, but we’re confident the hosts will score even more.
