Denis Goltsov is 32-8 overall with a TKO loss in his most recent fight. It was the fight for the $1,000,000 prize in the final of last year’s PFL tournament, in which Renan Ferreira destroyed him with punches in the second round.
Now, he’s fighting another great striker. Vassell is a fast and agile fighter who lands a lot of powerful strikes in every fight. He’s 23-8-1 overall with wins against such elite opponents as Valentin Moldavsky (KO), Timothy Johnson (TKO), and so on.
But can he beat Goltsov as well? The Russian fighter is seven years his junior and is bigger and (probably) stronger than him? Well, age doesn’t seem to be a problem for Vassell.
He’s turning 41 in a few months’ time, but he doesn’t seem to mind. In fact, he’s been really impressive over the last couple of years. Since returning to the heavyweight division in 2019, he’s 5-1 with five wins in a row.

Even though 2024 PFL 1 odds do not favor Linton Vassell, we do think he’s got what it takes to cause an upset on April 4.
This guy has really matured in the last couple of years, while still keeping his quickness which makes him a real danger to any heavyweight in the PFL. If Goltsov doesn’t land a quick KO, we think Vassell might do it to him in the closing stages of the fight.
