Huge boxing action is set for the O2 Arena in London at the end of July, as a must-win showdown has been set between Derek Chisora and Joe Joyce. Both heavyweights will come into the fight looking to get back in the world title picture.
Before Betting On Derek Chisora vs Joe Joyce
Heavyweight boxing action is set for the O2 Arena this July, as Derek Chisora and Joe Joyce will collide. The pressure will be on the latter of the boxers, with Joyce quickly falling out of contention for a world title showdown last year after suffering back-to-back defeats against Zhilei Zhang. Both losses were suffered inside the 12 rounds, with the latest of those coming by third-round KO.
Questions have been asked of the British boxer since those defeats, despite having upset the odds to become mandatory challenger for the WBO gold after beating Joseph Parker in September 2022. He quickly bounced back to winning ways earlier this year after a dominant finish in the final round against Kash Ali in Birmingham, England.
Chisora has always been regarded as one of the most consistent heavyweights in the division, but he has always appeared to have lacked that extra bit more to truly test the best fighters in the division. However, he has a similar pedigree to Joyce, having won various titles as an amateur before turning professional.
The Brit is now at a last chance saloon when it comes to the potential of fighting for another world title after suffering defeats against Oleksandr Usyk, Parker, and Tyson Fury since the start of 2020. However, he did land a morale-boosting win on his most recent outing in the ring after scoring a unanimous decision success against Gerald Washington.
Derek Chisora vs Joe Joyce Offshore Odds & Pick
The increased pressure will be on Joyce’s shoulders in this heavyweight showdown, as he must prove his credentials in the division against a strong rival. We could see the Brit getting back on track with a dominant late finish against Chisora.
