The Coors Field aspect is in effect on Saturday as the offshore sportsbooks have put the Diamondbacks vs Rockies O/U at 12.5. Friday’s series opener was a dominating 9-1 victory by 1st place Arizona as it sent Colorado to their fifth loss in the last seven games. There’s a good price on the D’Backs for game two, but is it also a trap price?

Before Betting on Diamondbacks vs Rockies

We keep waiting for Arizona to regress after their 15-12 beginning to the MLB season after they were 74-88 last season, ahead of only these Rockies in the NL West. One of the Diamondbacks many downfalls in 2022 was their 34-47 road record, but they’ve started off 7-6 in away games this year.

Colorado has usually been a much better team at home as they were a measly 27-54 away from Coors Field last season, but the Rockies have now dropped six straight at Coors Field. Colorado managed just a single run in Friday night’s loss, their fourth straight game with 3-runs or less in the very hitter-friendly Denver atmosphere.

The fact that the Diamondbacks aren’t bigger favorites on Saturday seems like kind of an indictment on their starting pitcher Tommy Henry (0-0, 6.23 ERA). The left-hander made his first start of the season on Monday giving up 3ER over 4.1 IP in a 5-4 win over the Royals. He’ll be combatted by Colorado’s Noah Davis who has allowed just 1 ER over his first 9.2 IP of the season.

Diamondbacks vs Rockies Prediction & Pick

Arizona was priced similarly on Friday and picked up an 8-run win, so although this line seems like a trap it’s also not wise to wager on Colorado right now as losers of six straight home games. Even oddsmakers can’t pin this unpredictable Rockies team down so take advantage of that.
