Before Betting on Dodgers vs Giants Sept 16
Dodgers vs. Giants would have been a great late season series – last year. San Francisco won the NL West last season with a 107-55 record, a game better than L.A. Things are a lot different in the division this year though, with the Dodgers already clinching the NL West this past week while SF is 29.5 games back.
The Dodgers basically have nothing to play for the last 20-something games of the season which does make them a dangerous team to wager on these last few weeks. For example the Diamondbacks took a 5-3 extra innings win over L.A. on Wednesday after the Dodgers had won 8 of their past 10 previous games.
Even though wins don’t necessarily mean something for L.A. right now, this is still a rivalry series and the Dodgers would love to add to their 12-4 record against San Francisco this season. One thing the Dodgers want to do is carve out their pitching roles for the postseason which is why all eyes are on Dustin May (1-2, 4.29 ERA) in his fifth start of the season after returning from Tommy John surgery. L.A. has lost three of his four outings in 2022.
The offshore odds are expecting a pitcher’s duel with a run total of just 7.5, which means SF starter Logan Webb (13-8, 2.88 ERA) should be in line for a good outing. Webb picked up a win over the Dodgers on September 5th with 6.0 IP and 2 ER allowed but he was tagged for 6 by LA at home back on August 1st.

One of the big things to look at ahead of this game is the lineup card, as it was an interesting one for L.A. on Wednesday in the loss to Arizona. That being said, the Dodgers had Thursday off and should have a somewhat normal 1-9 on Friday night. That also being said, do you trust May for L.A. as high as -160 at Bovada?
