Dolphins vs Patriots Head-to-Head Stats
The Dolphins are 62-55 all-time against the Patriots.
Who Will Step Up On Offense?
Miami’s offense can’t seem to pick up the pieces in Tua Tagovailoa’s absence. In their last three games, the Dolphins haven’t scored more than 12 points, resulting in three disappointing losses.
On Sunday, they lost to the Tennessee Titans 31-12. The Dolphins were down 9-3 at halftime and gradually fell apart from there. While the team still has a good receiving corps, it’s hard to get the offense going when the backup quarterback is struggling to get them the ball.
QB Tyler Huntley threw for just 96 yards, completing 14 passes. He did lead the team in rushes and even scored a touchdown late in the game, but it wasn’t enough. The Dolphins accumulated almost 100 yards in penalties. They need to be more disciplined moving forward.
Patriots Banged Up
The Patriots’ offense is looking just as bad as Miami’s. To add insult to injury, they left San Francisco with some new injured players.
In their 30-13 loss to the 49ers, New England turned the ball over three times, and the defense allowed six sacks. They lost by a 2-to-1 ratio in all the key statistical categories. New England’s last three games have been against above-average teams, and they just can’t keep up on either side of the ball.
While third-down conversions have been decent, they need to extend those drives and turn them into touchdowns instead of field goals. Perhaps being back home, after two tough road games, can serve as a fresh start for the Pats.
Dolphins vs Patriots Prediction
Both of these teams are doing some serious soul-searching. The Dolphins and Patriots are struggling to find any consistent offense, and their current quarterbacks aren’t cutting it. New England’s recent turnover issues could lead to favorable field position for Miami. With both teams are facing difficulties right now, it’s likely there will be more field goals than touchdowns in this matchup. Take the under.
