The Los Angeles Rams (4-4) host the Miami Dolphins (2-6) at SoFi Stadium. The teams are heading in opposite directions with Miami having lost three straight and Los Angeles having won three straight. Our Dolphins vs Rams prediction is for road underdog Miami to cover the 1.5-point spread.
Head-to-head, Miami has dominated with a 12-2 record.
Offshore Odds: Streaking Los Angeles Is a Slight Favorite
Team | Spread | Money Line | Total |

Rams | -1.5 (-110) | -132 | U 49 (-115) |
Tua’s Return Has Not Stopped Miami’s Skid
Miami split its first two games before quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion and missed four games. When he returned, Miami was 2-4. Still, they had a chance to get back into playoff contention.
In the subsequent two games, Miami lost 28-27 to Arizona and 30-27 to Buffalo. Despite being 2-6, a small window remains to crawl back into playoff contention. If they get by the Rams, they visit two lower-echelon teams in Las Vegas and New England. Just like that, they could be 5-6.
Tua’s absence makes it difficult to gauge the Dolphins’ 2024 season accurately. Their entire offense is centered around his precision passing. They are next-to-last in the NFL in points per game, and 24th in passing yards per game.
He has been excellent since his return going 53 for 66 for 465 yards and three touchdown passes. Los Angeles’ defense is vulnerable to the pass.
Rams Have an Opening To Win the NFC West
Los Angeles sat at 1-4 after their Week 5 loss to Green Bay. Opposing teams were calling to inquire about receiver Cooper Kupp and even quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Three things changed their outlook:
- They won three straight with victories over Las Vegas, Minnesota, and Seattle
- The NFC West has shown itself to be mediocre with all four teams within one game of each other
- Offensive stars Kupp and Puka Nacua returned from injury
Like Miami, the Rams’ statistics need to be put in the proper context. The absence of those two key components hindered their offense. Despite having a star running back in Kyren Williams, they are 26th in rushing yards per game and 23rd in points scored per game.
Both teams enter the game reasonably healthy.
Dolphins vs Rams Prediction: Road Underdog Miami Stuns Los Angeles
Miami has looked much better offensively since Tua’s return. They could have won their past two games against potential playoff teams Arizona and Buffalo. Also, they have been excellent defensively against the pass, ranked fourth in the league.
Defense has not been the problem. Now that their offense is closer to preseason expectations, they should cover the 1.5-point spread as underdogs.
