Gunners Showing Massive Improvement

To be honest, we didn’t expect to see Arsenal rising this high during the Christmas and New Year’s stretch. If it weren’t for this tragic loss against the Citizens, they would finish the most demanding part of the season perfectly.

However, a few stupid mistakes cost them a big win. They were the first EPL team to outplay City and dominate against Guardiola’s machinery, which happened in the opening 45 minutes.

A 1-2 loss was the eighth game in the last 10 with over 2.5 goals for this unit, and only the second in the previous seven home contests in which Arteta’s crew allowed a goal. It snapped their 11-match unbeaten streak at the Emirates.

Liverpool Ahead of Tough Times

The Reds had a chance to boost the morale against Chelsea. They were up 0-2 early on, looking sharp and furious, and as if they were about to score five goals against the big rivals. In the end, they saved their skin on a couple of occasions, getting away from Stamford with a single point, severely decreasing prospects for the title.

The additional problem here is that Mane, Salah, and Keita head to the Africa Cup of Nations, while Klopp has COVID-19 and has to be out for some time. So pretty much, the Reds are beheaded.

Liverpool is without a win in the regular 90 minutes over the past four games, posting three draws and one loss. After eliminating Leicester from the EFL Cup, a few days later they went on to lose in EPL. Though, the efficiency of all their games is high, as four of the last five saw at least four hits.

Head to Head Games

The Reds smashed Arsenal in the first meeting of the season, 4-0, presenting one-sided domination over the guests from London. Mane opened the show in the 39th minute, and until the end, Diogo Jota, Salah, and Minamino all added one goal.

Prediction

Arsenal relies upon tough defense, while on the other side, Liverpool is without its two best individuals (both of them attackers), without the manager and a few more backup players. The Reds will pretty much be a different team than one week ago, which is why we recommend betting on under 2.5 goals. They won’t be in a position to keep the same intensity and productivity on the offensive side of the pitch, and that is the main reason for our decision.
