England’s hopes of successfully defending their T20 World Cup will hinge on their next two matches in the competition, with England first coming up against Oman later this week. But, can the team salvage their place in the competition?

Before Betting On England vs Oman

A disappointing 12 months or so for the English cricket team has shown no signs of ending at this early stage of the T20 World. Jos Buttler’s side will need to win each of their remaining two matches, and hope that the weather doesn’t negatively impact their chances of landing successive victories. England hopes were dampened in their opening match after rain stopped them from tracking down Scotland in the hunt for 90 runs.

However, things didn’t get any better in their second match of the competition after suffering a humbling defeat at the hands of Australia. England were eventually beaten by 36 runs in that match, meaning that only wins in their remaining matches will see them finish above Scotland to claim a spot in the next round of the World Cup.

Oman are appearing at the T20 World Cup for the third time in their history this summer, but their wait for a place in the knockout round continues after their elimination was confirmed after their most recent match. It has been a disappointing tournament for the nation after qualifying as champions in the Asian Qualifier last year.

However, they have suffered defeats in each of their three matches at the tournament this year, which includes a Super Over loss against Namibia in their opening Group B clash. Defeats against Scotland and Australia have followed, but they will have one final opportunity to end their 2024 campaign on a high note.

England will have one eye on the weather forecast ahead of this penultimate match of the group stage. Only a big win will do against Oman in Antigua, and we expect them to achieve that success to set up a huge match against Namibia on Sunday.
