Is it time for France to score its first goal from open play in the 2024 Euros? We think it is. Actually, we think Les Bleus are overdue. Bookies seem to agree with us, as evident from the fact that their France vs. Belgium odds are leaning toward Didier Deschamps’s men.

Before Betting on France vs. Belgium

France finished second in Group D, with one win and two draws. They beat Austria 1:0 in the first round with an own goal by one of Austria’s players. In the second round, they drew 0:0 with the Netherlands, while their third-round game with Poland ended 1:1 with their only goal scored by Kylian Mbappe from the penalty spot.

However, their manager Didier Deschamps doesn’t think this is a major problem. In his own words, tournaments are won by great defenses. Conceding just one goal in three games is a good achievement for France’s defense.

What needs to worry them is that on July 1, they’re locking horns with Belgium, a team that, despite scoring only two goals so far, has some really good attackers on the roster.

The Red Devils finished the group stage with a 1-1-1 record. They started their campaign with a shocking 1:0 loss to Slovakia, after which they beat Romania 2:0, before drawing 0:0 with Ukraine.

If it wasn’t for VAR, Belgium’s striker Romelu Lukaku would’ve had three goals to his name. Despite not scoring, he’s been doing a pretty decent job so far, and the same goes for his colleagues in the final third, Jeremy Doku and Leonardo Trossard.

Based on what we’ve seen so far from these two teams, the France vs. Belgium game probably won’t see too many goals. However, we do think France will score at least one, which should be enough to take Les Bleus to the next phase of the Euros.
