A place in the EURO 2024 will be the reward for either the Netherlands or England when they collide in the second semi-final in Dortmund this week. Both nations showed excellent character in overcoming tricky tests on Saturday in the quarterfinals. You can find our best card bets for the showdown in the final four here.

What We Know So Far

It has been a challenging summer for Gareth Southgate to this point, with questions asked of the England boss surrounding his long-term future. The Three Lions haven’t done enough on the field so far, winning just once in normal time across five matches this summer. But, excellent character was shown on Saturday to overcome Switzerland following a penalty shootout.

The Netherlands also showed great bouncebackability to power past against Turkey, netting twice in the final 20 minutes. The Dutch also have a very impressive record against the Three Lions, with England having won just 27% of their matches against the Netherlands.

This will be the fourth time that the nations have collided at a major tournament, with England winning the previous encounter by a 4-1 scoreline at EURO 96. But, the Three Lions have won just once in their last nine matches against the Dutch.

England will be aiming to reach a second successive EURO final, beating Denmark 2-1 at this stage in EURO 2020. Meanwhile, the Netherlands have suffered defeats in four of their last five semi-final appearances at the European Championships.

Best Card Bets

An exciting semi-final between England and the Netherlands is set for this week, and it should be a competitive affair on the field. You can find our best card bets for this fixture in Dortmund below.

Denzel Dumfries +300

Denzel Dumfries is often a standout player to be carded for both club and country. The full-back will face an interesting challenge this week, with Luke Shaw and Phil Foden expected to be handed starts on the left-hand side of England’s attack. Dumfries has already been carded once at the EUROs this summer.

Declan Rice +375

Declan Rice has been one of England’s better performers at the EUROs this summer, but he could be vulnerable against a very technical Dutch midfield. He is yet to be booked at the tournament this summer, which could make him a standout selection to pick up a yellow for a tactical foul at some point in Tuesday’s semi-final.
