Before Betting On Slovenia vs Denmark

An interesting battle for qualifying places in Group C gets underway in Stuttgart on Sunday, with both Slovenia and Denmark hoping to throw their hat into the ring. Denmark were one of the standout nations at the previous edition of the EUROs after reaching the semi-final stage before falling to a dramatic extra-time defeat at Wembley against England.

They failed to replicate that bold showing at the recent World Cup after falling in the group stage after failing to win any of their three matches. But, the Danes were once again strong in qualifying for the tournament this summer after winning seven of their ten matches, which highlights their best ever qualifying campaign for the EUROs.

Slovenia will be the outsiders in the betting to book their spot in the next round, and they will be playing in just their second EUROs. Their debut appearance came back in 2000, but they failed to make it out of the group stage after going three without a win. However, they enjoyed their best-ever qualifying campaign for the tournament after winning seven of their ten matches.

They were defensively sound throughout the qualifying campaign, allowing just nine goals and suffering just two defeats. Their preparations for the tournament this summer have been very reliable after winning three of their five internationals this summer, and going unbeaten across all matches over that period. However, they were beaten by Denmark during qualifying.

The matches between these sides in qualifying were very tight affairs, and much of the same is expected in this opening match. However, we could see Denmark having the required talent in the final third to get over the line with a narrow success.
