  • Fenerbahçe currently leads the EuroLeague standings, sitting at 9-2 through Week 11.
  • Alba Berlin continues to flail each week, ranking dead last with a -135 point differential.
  • Week 12 features several key matchups as the standings remain close across the board.

The 2024 EuroLeague basketball season is heating up down the stretch. Only two games separate 2nd and 12th, keeping most teams in contention. Week 12’s results will have another large impact on the standings.

EuroLeague Basketball Week 12 Predictions

Žalgiris vs. Baskonia

Žalgiris improved to 7-4 last week with their win over Panathinaikos. It was a strong bounce-back result to avoid losing two straight games to other teams in contention. This week, Žalgiris hosts Baskonia in what should be a much easier matchup. Coming off of a 23-point defeat, Baskonia enters this game in poor shape. They’ll have an opportunity to bounce back, but will likely come up short on the road against Žalgiris.

Alba Berlin vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv

This is the worst matchup of the week, taking place between two collapsing teams. Alba Berlin is in dead last at 2-9 with a horrendous -135 point differential. Meanwhile, Maccabi Tel Aviv has the league’s longest losing streak at four games. They’ve fallen to 3-8 and cannot afford a loss in this game. Unfortunately, they have played worse than Alba Berlin this month and face them on the road. Berlin should snag the upset in this one.

Paris vs. Virtus Bologna

Paris is the hottest team in EuroLeague basketball. After starting the season 1-3, they have now won seven consecutive games. That winning streak vaulted Paris into a tie for 2nd place in the league at 8-3. They’re favored to claim their eighth straight win in this week’s matchup against 2-9 Virtus Bologna. Paris is at home in this game and at a significant advantage over their opponent. They should win this one easily.

Partizan vs. Olympiacos

The second-hottest team in EuroLeague is Olympiacos, who have won six games in a row. They also hold the league’s best point differential of +74. No other team is within 20 points of that total. Olympiacos isn’t a lock to win in this matchup on the road, but they’ll have the advantage over their 3-8 opponent. Partizan is coming off of a win of their own and can’t be completely written off, but they are unlikely to stop Olympiacos’ surge.

Barcelona vs. Real Madrid

Barcelona and Real Madrid face off in a rivalry matchup this week. Overall, the advantage sits with Barcelona, who are 7-4 and two games ahead of Real Madrid. That being said, they lost by 22 points to Bayern Munich last week, allowing 100 points. It was the second defeat in a row for Barcelona, who has cooled off since their hot start. Even so, they should have enough of an advantage to win on their home court over Real Madrid.

Fenerbahçe vs Milano

Fenerbahçe picked up a competitive road win over Virtus Bologna last week, improving to 9-2 on the season. They have won six games in a row and sit alone at the top of the EuroLeague standings. They return home this week and remain large favorites to defeat Milano and continue rolling. They are in good shape to do just that, but they can’t overlook a Milano team that went 4-1 in their last five games. Fenerbahçe should still win here.

Crvena Zvezda vs. Bayern Munich

Crvena Zvezda continued to struggle last week. They scored just 77 points in a 12-point home loss to Partizan. The defeat marked two in a row for Crvena Zvezda, dropping them to 5-6 on the season. After a promising start, they are now on the wrong side of the playoff bubble. With their next matchup against 8-3 Bayern Munich, they may be on the way to another home loss. Bayern Munich is red-hot on offense and should win this game.

Panathinaikos vs. Monaco

Panathinaikos dropped to 7-4 last week, following their defeat to Žalgiris. They remain in the playoff picture, but are only two games away from dropping out. Returning home this week, Panathinaikos has a crucial matchup against Monaco, who also sits at 7-4. This matchup is extremely close on paper, which should benefit the home team. That being said, Monaco scored 103 last week and is red-hot on offense. They should snag the upset.

Lyon-Villeurbanne vs. Anadolu Efes

Lyon-Villeurbanne gave up 103 points to Monaco last week, falling to 3-8 on the season. They have failed to build any momentum and now sit with the league’s second-worse point differential of -61. While Lyon-Villeurbanne is likely to lose once again this week, they will at least have home-court advantage. It is unlikely to matter much against a 6-5 Anadolu Efes team that needs this win far more in order to stay in contention.
