As you all know, the EuroLeague is positioning itself as the second-best basketball league in the world. The NBA is still the sports’ showpiece, but European basketball is definitely closing the gap, so it’s no wonder there is so much hype ahead of the new 2024 season.

The bookmakers have released the EuroLeague Winner odds, and two names are slightly positioned better than others — Greece’s Panathinaikos and Olympiacos.

Panathinaikos are the reigning champions and have managed to keep their entire championship-winning roster together, plus added a few more top players, including Lorenzo Brown and NBA-newcomers Cedi Osman and Omer Yurtseven.

Elsewhere, Olympiacos landed NBA veteran Evan Fournier and brought back former EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov, who was part of the Sacramento Kings team last year. But that’s not all. The team from Piraeus has several more players signed, and with the already present core, they are very, very strong.

Real Madrid and Fenerbahce are next on the list. They are always among the best teams in Europe and have the potential to go all the way. Real Madrid lost Guerschon Yabusele (remember the guy who posterized LeBron James), but they still have Hezonja and Musa. Fenerbahce are loaded with weapons, and they form a nasty backcourt.

Other teams on the list include Barcelona, Efes Pilsen, and Serbia’s Partizan.

Partizan changed their entire team, keeping hold of just one player from the previous season. However, the Serbs have the best European coach of all time in Zeljko Obradovic, and considering his mentality and the quality of new players, don’t sleep on the black-and-whites; they just might be the dark horse we are all looking for.

EuroLeague Basketball Winner Prediction

Right now, even though it’s still early and there are plenty of changes possible, it seems that Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce have the biggest chances to win this year’s competition.

We are waiting to see how Panathinaikos’ chemistry clicks because they have plenty of fantastic players. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce will probably be the best shooting team in the league — and they look very impressive at first glance.

Panathinaikos has a slight edge though, so at this time, we are tipping them to defend their title.
