There will be an all-Premier League clash in the week of third round replays in the FA Cup on Wednesday. Everton and Crystal Palace couldn’t be separated in the first meeting between the sides, but there must be a winner when the teams collide at Goodison Park this week.

Before Betting On Everton vs Crystal Palace

The first meeting between Everton and Crystal Palace was a hugely forgettable affair, as the sides played out an uneventful 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park. There will be increased pressure on both sides to chase the victory this week, as a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup awaits the winner of the tie.

Everton could hold the advantage over their rivals, as they have gone eight matches without loss against Palace at Goodison Park. Their most recent defeat was a 3-2 loss in September 2014. The Eagles have also underperformed on the road in the FA Cup, as they have suffered defeats in two of their last three away from home against Everton. In fact, both away defeats suffered against the Toffees came in replays.

Everton will take confidence from the fact that they have picked up victories in each of their last four replays that have been played at Goodison Park. Their most recent home defeat in a replay was suffered against Bolton in 1993-94. Palace haven’t enjoyed a good cup run since reaching the semi-finals in 2021-22. However, they have fallen in the third round in three of the last four seasons.

Given their poor recent record in the competition, it isn’t a surprise that this is the Eagles’ first replay in the competition since the 2016-17 season. On that occasion, they picked up a 2-1 home success against Bolton at Selhurst Park.
