The exciting action in Formula 1 continues on the streets of Baku on September 15, as the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is the latest race on the F1 schedule. Title fights in the Drivers’ and Constructors’ standings have taken shape, but can Lando Norris close the gap on Max Verstappen once again?
Before Betting On Azerbaijan Grand Prix
The F1 action returns to the Baku City Circuit on September 15, as the latest street race of the season will take place. Traditionally, this race is one of the most challenging for drivers involved, as the tight nature of the track often sees crashes and safety cars required.
The drivers will complete a total race distance of 306.049 km in Baku, which is made up by 51 laps. There are two DRS zones to aid with overtaking, while time can be made and lost across the 20 challenging corners that must be navigated.
Sergio Perez landed victory in the race last year, giving Red Bull a fourth win in six editions. However, the pressure will be increased on the team ahead of this weekend, as they have now gone six races without a win. That has seen their advantage at the top of the Constructors’ standings diminished to just eight points by McLaren. Ferrari are also in the hunt, as they sit 39 points behind the reigning champions.
Verstappen still has a clear advantage at the top of the Drivers’ standings, but the Dutchman has finished behind Norris in three of the last four races. But, there was ultimately disappointment for the Brit at the Italian Grand Prix, as he could only finish third behind Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri.
However, a return to winning ways could see the Brit put more pressure on Verstappen, who could only finish sixth in the race at Monza last weekend.
Azerbaijan Grand Prix Odds & Picks
Driver | Odds |
---|---|
Lando Norris | +120 |
Charles Leclerc | +500 |
Oscar Piastri | +500 |
Max Verstappen | +700 |
Carlos Sainz | +1000 |
Lewis Hamilton | +1400 |
Verstappen could be a decent bet to bounce back to winning ways this weekend. Red Bull has a dominant record around the streets of Baku, and at +700, he is well worth taking a chance on this weekend.
