Before Betting

There were fears after the first five races of the 2024 season that there would be a procession for Max Verstappen and Red Bull this term, meaning that the fact that title battles in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ standings have taken shape is an exciting prospect.

Red Bull’s lead in the Constructors standings has been diminished, and they come into the 18th race of the season with a points deficit to make up on McLaren. A second win of the season for Oscar Piastri and a fourth-place finish for Lando Norris moved the British team to the summit, and they could be hard to bet against to win the team title for the first time since 1998.

All the talk before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix surrounding the team’s orders that they would prioritize Norris for the remainder of the season, but Piastri out-qualified his teammate and took a deserving race win on the streets of Baku. A stunning end to the race saw the Australian hold off Charles Leclerc, before a double podium finish for Ferrari was ended following a heavy collision between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez.

Not for the first time, George Russell was in the right place at the right time to pick up the pieces, claiming a third-place finish against all odds. However, Mercedes lacked the race pace of the teams ahead of them, which would be a concern in Singapore, where the track is likely to once again favor the teams that excelled in Azerbaijan.

Singapore Grand Prix Prediction

The unpredictable nature of Formula 1 this season has been captivating, and another thrilling race is likely this weekend. We could see a real twist in the championship race coming on Sunday, with Lando Norris landing a race win to close the gap on Max Verstappen in the race for the Drivers’ Championship.
