You have to wonder what Nebraska (16-6) has left in the tank after rallying from a 19 point deficit to beat #6 Wisconsin 80-72 in OT on Thursday. The Cornhuskers have a quick turnaround and little time to celebrate as they head to Champaign on Sunday to face #14 Illinois. The Fighting Illini have won four of their last five to stay a game behind Purdue and Wisconsin in the race for the Big Ten regular season crown.

Before Betting on Nebraska vs #14 Illinois NCAAB

Nebraska can obviously beat anybody in the conference, as they’ve topped Wisconsin, the Northwestern team that beat Illinois a couple weeks ago, and #1 Purdue 88-72 on January 9th. The only problem with that is all of those victories have been in Lincoln, where the Cornhuskers have gone 6-0 in Big Ten play – on the road Nebraska is 0-5 and their losses have come by an average of over a dozen points.

The Cornhuskers struggle on the road, and meanwhile Illinois is 11-2 at home this season. The Fighting Illini picked up a big 87-75 victory at Ohio State on Tuesday to easily cover the -2.5 spread as Terrence Shannon, Jr. and Marcus Domask both had 23 points. Ty Rodgers also had 13 points on 5-6 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds.

Illinois has a seven game win streak in the series, and last year’s sweep was especially dominant. The Fighting Illini won 72-56 at home at the end of January last season to go along with the 76-50 win in Lincoln earlier in the month.

Nebraska vs #14 Illinois NCAAB Prediction & Pick

Does Illinois pull off another blowout win like they did in both meetings last season? It seems likely the way Nebraska is probably a bit emotionally drained after the win over Wisconsin on Thursday and with how bad the Cornhuskers have been on the road in Big Ten play this season.

Pick: Illinois -9.5
