The action on the PGA Tour this weekend comes from TPC Southwind, as the FedEx St. Jude Championship is staged. This weekend’s event offers a purse of $20 million, and a deep field of top players will be among the leading contenders in the odds for the competition.

Before Betting On FedEx St. Jude Championship

One of the most competitive golf events of the summer will take place at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, this weekend. This competition has been contested since 1967, and it has formed the opening leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs since 2007. Therefore, in recent editions, the field has been limited to the top 70 players on the points list.

A total distance of 7,244 yards will be covered by the talented field involved this weekend, with the par 70 course boasting a purse of $20 million. A number of the most famous players have won this stroke play event throughout history, including Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, and Dustin Johnson. The latter holds the tournament record score after finishing 30-under in 2020.

A familiar name will be at the top of the betting this weekend, as Scottie Scheffler bids to continue his memorable success. The American should come into the weekend in excellent form after recently winning the gold medal at the Olympics. Prior to that, he finished in a tie for seventh at The Open.

Collin Morikawa dipped away at The Open last month, but he still secured a top-20 finish in the major. Rory McIlroy will also be among the leading contenders if he can piece back together his form, but it has been a testing couple of months for the 35-year-old. Tommy Fleetwood could also be hard to rule out after winning the silver medal at the Olympics earlier this month.

Hideki Matsuyama could be an interesting play at the prices this weekend. The Japanese star finished strongly in winning the bronze medal at the Olympics in Paris, and he made the cut in three of his last four events, which included a sixth-place finish at the U.S. Open in June.
