The National Football League preseason is set to begin this week as players are scheduled to report to training camp. The New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles are the early favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl LII. Odds for each team to win the Super Bowl have been released, and there are five teams that a bettor should absolutely stay away from. These five teams have no shot to win the Super Bowl in 2018.
Cleveland Browns +8000
Surprisingly, the Cleveland Browns don’t have the lowest odds to win Super Bowl LII, but check in with +8000 odds. Perhaps oddsmakers believe in the hype of rookie quarterback, Baker Mayfield, but the Cleveland Browns will not be competitive in 2018. The Browns are coming off of an 0-16 season, and managed to win just 1 game in the season before that. Cleveland might find a way to five wins this season, but they will not be a contender in the AFC North Division, let alone in the AFC. Stay away from the Cleveland Browns in future Super Bowl betting.
Buffalo Bills +10000
The Buffalo Bills believe they have found the future face of their franchise in quarterback, Josh Allen. Allen was selected by the Bills in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, but doesn’t come from a big time college football program. The Bills appeared to be back on a track a few seasons ago, but took a huge step back last season. The Bills don’t have the talent to compete in the AFC East, and don’t have a shot to make the playoffs this year. Don’t bet on the Bills to win the 2018 Super Bowl, unless you enjoy giving money away.
Chicago Bears +10000
The Chicago Bears fired John Fox after another wasted season in 2017, and hired Matt Nagy as head coach. Nagy comes from the Andy Reid coaching tree, and should bring some new ideas and excitement to the Windy City. Quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, should be much improved in 2018, and looks like a future star, but the Bears play in a very tough NFC North. The Bears appear to be headed in the right direction, but they are still well behind the Packers and Vikings in their division.
Miami Dolphins +15000
The Miami Dolphins will welcome back quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, this season after suffering through a year with Jay Cutler. The Dolphins drafted Minkah Fitzpatrick in an attempt to shore up their defense, but they still have several holes to fill. The Dolphins might be the second best team in the AFC East, but they are light years behind the New England Patriots. The Dolphins are still a few years away from contending for the playoffs.
New York Jets +20000
The New York Jets franchise is a mess, and they don’t appear to have a plan going forward. The Jets selected quarterback, Sam Darnold, to be the face of their franchise, but the roster is still one of the worst in football. The Jets were once a proud football franchise, but are now the laughing stock of the NFL. The Jets have the lowest odds to win the 2018 Super Bowl, and for good reason. The Jets might finish with the worst record in the NFL this season, and should be preparing for the number 1 draft pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
