Before Betting on Florida State Louisville Week 3

Florida State is looking for their first undefeated start since 2015 while also trying to snap a two game losing streak against Louisville when the teams meet up on Friday night. The Seminoles’ most impressive win has been their 24-23 win over LSU in week one, but that’s a game they almost blew a 24-10 point fourth quarter lead against.

Louisville got their first win of the season last week 24-20 in a tough visit to Central Florida. The Cardinals were also stomped 31-7 in the season opener by Syracuse however so which teams shows up in the Florida State Louisville week 3 matchup?

Friday night’s contest is the home opener for Louisville, but Florida State also comes in off a bye last weekend so they’ve had extra time to prepare for Malik Cunningham. The Louisville QB had 39 TDs combined rushing and passing last season and had two scores through the air and two on the ground in last year’s 31-23 victory at Florida State.

FSU has put up some impressive numbers through their 2-0 start, including ranking 5th in the country in rush offense and 18th defensively in total yards allowed. A lot of those number are inflated from a season opening 47-7 win over Duquesne in which the Seminoles ran for 406 yards and held the Dukes to 164 yards of total offense.

One big concern for Florida State even in their win over LSU was that they allowed Tigers QB Jayden Daniels to go 26/35 for 209 yards with 2 TDs while also running for 114 yards on just 16 carries. Daniels and Cunningham are both dual threat players and FSU already had their hands full with the Louisville QB last season. The wrong team looks favored here.
