One of the pre-tournament favorites at the Women’s World Cup will get their campaign underway on Sunday, as France take to the field Down Under for the first time. Jamaica will be their opponents, as they compete in their second straight World Cup.
Before Betting On France vs Jamaica
The action in Group F at the Women’s World Cup gets underway on Sunday, with one of the major contenders for glory opening their campaign. France has often been a nation that has underperformed on the global stage, and that was only too evident in the previous edition of the World Cup, as the French crashed out at the quarterfinal stage in their home tournament. Their previous best appearance at the tournament came in 2011, as they finished fourth overall, but there is limited expectations that a repeat achievement can be achieved this year.
However, France comes into the tournament in excellent recent form, as they have won five of their previous seven internationals. That includes victories over Denmark, Canada, and Ireland. But, they will need to bounce back after suffering a pre-tournament loss against Australia on July 14.
Jamaica will be making their second straight appearance at the World Cup, having gained qualification for the first time at the 2019 edition of the tournament. However, they were largely disappointing in their debut showing, as they lost all three group stage matches that they played, conceding 12 goals in total.
This will be the first time that France and Jamaica have clashed, but the French boast a decent record against nations from the CONCACAF region. They have registered two wins, and two defeats, but both losses have been recorded against the United States.
France vs Jamaica Offshore Odds & Pick
France has often under delivered on the global stage, but they still boast quality across the field. We find it hard to bet against them covering the spread in this opening match, and we fully expect them to reach the knockout round. However, we would be surprised if they managed to go any further than the quarterfinals at the World Cup.
