Two sides that made promising starts to the new Premier League season will lock horns in a London Derby in the English top-flight this weekend. But, can Fulham claim a second straight win to start the new season when they collide with Brentford?
Before Betting On Fulham vs Brentford
Fulham would have been delighted with their start to the new season last weekend, as they registered a famous 1-0 win on the road against Everton. It was a cagey affair between the two sides, with the only goal of the game being scored with under 20 minutes remaining by Bobby De Cordova-Reid. The Cottagers have no improved their recent record against the Toffees, as they have won three of their last four against Everton.
That is a huge improvement after winning just three of their 18 matches against the Toffees before that period. It was also a solid start to the new season for Fulham, as they won their opening match of the new Premier League season for the first time since 2013-14. The victory ended a run of three matchday one fixtures without picking up a win.
Brentford would have also been encouraged by their performance on matchday one, as they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw against a new-look Tottenham. Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa scored the goals in the tie, which would have been a welcome sight for Thomas Frank, as the Bees prepare for half a season without last season’s top scorer, Ivan Toney.
Interestingly, the draw improves Brentford’s record in London derbies, as they are now unbeaten in their last ten. Over that period, they have recorded five wins and five draws. It is only the second time in their history that they have gone ten derbies without defeat, as they previously went eleven without a loss in August 1955.
