The second EFL Cup semi-final takes place on Wednesday, as Liverpool will be looking to land a second victory in three seasons in the competition. They come into their second showdown against Fulham boasting a 2-1 advantage following success in the first meeting at Anfield.

The Reds will be heavily favored to secure their spot in the final for the second time in three seasons on Wednesday, as they come into the second leg with an advantage following victory at Anfield on January 10. Despite going behind in the first half, Liverpool turned the game on its head within three second half minutes. Curtis Jones levelled the scores in the 68th minute, before the winning effort was registered by Cody Gakpo in the 71st minute.
Fulham only had themselves to blame in that match at Anfield, as they created no shortage of excellent opportunities to move into a 2-0 lead. But, they have now given themselves a mountain to climb in this second leg, and they will likely need to keep a clean sheet to have any chance of progressing through to the final at Wembley.
The defeat means that Fulham have now lost each of their last two, with their most recent setback coming against Chelsea on January 13. That was their last match in any competition, meaning that they should at least come into this showdown well-rested.
