The 2-9 New York Giants travel to Dallas to play the 4-7 Cowboys. It is an NFL Thanksgiving tradition for the Cowboys to be a part of the festivities. Our Giants vs Cowboys prediction is for favored Dallas to cover the 4-point spread. The teams will combine to score more than 37.5 points.

Head-to-head, they have played 125 times. Dallas leads with a record of 76-47-2 and has won 14 of the last 15 meetings.

Giants Can’t Get Much Worse

New York’s Week 12 loss at home to Tampa Bay was arguably their worst performance of the year — and that’s saying something. In the 30-7 beating, Bucs coach Todd Bowles called off the dogs in the fourth quarter.

The Giants have lost six straight and, it could be argued, might not win another game this season. They have reached depths of ineptitude not seen in New York since the late-1970s and substantive changes are underway. More might be on the horizon.

Tommy DeVito’s final numbers were respectable enough: 21 for 31 and 189 yards passing; and 32 yards rushing on seven carries.

DeVito suffered a forearm injury and is questionable for the game. If he cannot go, veteran Drew Lock will start.

The one area where the Giants are respectable is pass defense. They should be able to put up a few points against Dallas’ injury-ravaged defense.

Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is growing frustrated, referring to his team as “soft.” Pro Bowl defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence echoed those comments. Expect Nabers to be a significant part of the game plan and for running back Tyrone Tracy to pile up some yards on the ground.

Dallas Has Flickering Playoff Hopes

The Cowboys’ 34-26 win in Washington in Week 12 broke a five-game losing streak and, implausibly, kept them alive for a playoff spot. A win over the Giants would put Dallas at 5-7, two games behind Washington with three winnable games in front of them against Cincinnati, Carolina, and Tampa Bay. It’s unlikely, but possible that the Cowboys could be 8-7 by Week 17 heading to Philadelphia.

Cooper Rush completed 24 of 32 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns. Rico Dowdle ran for 86 yards on 19 carries. CeeDee Lamb caught 10 balls.

Dallas nearly managed to blow a 27-17 lead with less than three minutes remaining and would have if not for a Commanders missed extra point.

That aside, a win is a win. Dallas should move the ball against New York.

Cowboys vs Giants Prediction: Dallas Will Handle New York

Dallas has struggled mightily and their playoff hopes might be little more than a fantasy. But it’s not out of the question for them to make a late run by beating teams struggling worse than they are. The Giants are certainly in that category.

Dallas will win by more than four points and the teams will score at least 38 points.
